Toronto Blue Jays manager John Farrell was a guest on MLB Radio Tuesday morning and had this to say on the status of injured closer Sergio Santos:
“He’s in a 10-14 day no-throw period,” said Farrell. “He’s going to miss a minimum of of four weeks. After that hopefully it’s not too much more along after that four weeks, but as you mentioned, (Francisco) Cordero is a guy with 329 (career) saves that can step in a second closer. It’s kind of a luxury.”

Santos was placed on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder inflammation on April 21 after experiencing some discomfort while pitching the night before.
On Monday a MRI on Santos’ shoulder showed no structural damage.
