The Toronto Blue Jays are no longer interested in bringing back Alex Rios, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.
Rosenthal notes that the Cleveland Indians’ Asdrubal Cabrera could be an option for Alex Anthopoulos as he looks to strengthen the team ahead of their playoff push. Cabrera is hitting .247/.308/.392 this season and has added nine home runs.
Rios left the Blue Jays in 2009 when the Chicago White Sox claimed him off waivers. He is batting .302/.330/.435 in 96 games with the Rangers this year.
The Blue Jays originally selected Rios with the 19th pick of the 1999 draft. He debuted in 2004 and would go on to make two All-Star appearances with Toronto.
