Sportsnet set to air over 300 MLB games

Sportsnet.ca – Baseball season begins Tuesday morning on Rogers Sportsnet with the first of the network’s 307 Major League Baseball broadcasts this year.

The World Series champion Boston Red Sox open the 2008 season against the Oakland A’s in Tokyo at 6 a.m. ET / 3 a.m. PT on Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Pacific.

As always, the Toronto Blue Jays will take top billing this season with 100 games available, all of them in high definition on Sportsnet HD. Another 171 MLB broadcasts will also be available on Sportsnet HD.

In addition, both Sportsnet and Sportsnet HD are also the exclusive Canadian home to the All-Star Game and the baseball playoffs, including the World Series.

The Red Sox will appear in 47 games on Rogers Sportsnet, including 12 against the Jays, while the American League East rival New York Yankees will be seen in 33, 11 against the Jays.

Defending National League champion Colorado, featuring Canadian pitcher Jeff Francis, play 26 games on Sportsnet.
