DETROIT — The Detroit Tigers have put left-hander Kyle Lobstein on the 15-day disabled list because of a sore left shoulder.

Lobstein pitched 5 2-3 innings in Saturday’s loss to Houston. He’s been in the starting rotation because of an injury to Justin Verlander.

The Tigers recalled infielder Dixon Machado from Triple-A Toledo before Sunday’s game with the Astros.

Right-hander Buck Farmer is expected to take Lobstein’s place for Thursday’s start against the Los Angeles Angels. Farmer made four appearances for the Tigers last season, including two starts. He went 0-1 with an 11.57 ERA.
