Twitter Reaction: ‘Big Maple’ Paxton throws no-no in Canada

Watch as Seattle Mariners starter James Paxton completes the no-hitter against the Toronto Blue Jays with the help of Dee Gordon and Kyle Seager who provided some excellent defence.

Seattle Mariners pitcher James Paxton made baseball history Tuesday night against the Toronto Blue Jays, becoming just the second Canadian to throw a no-hitter.

The fact that the left-hander accomplished the feat on home soil makes it all the more special.

Not surprisingly, the baseball community — and Canada as a whole — embraced the man known as “Big Maple,” taking to Twitter to congratulate the 29-year-old hurler from Ladner, B.C.
