Unlike Drake and Meek Mill, the beef between the Kansas City Royals’ Yordano Ventura and Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista appears to be over.
On Monday afternoon, while new Blue Jays ace David Price was putting a bow on an eight-inning, 11-strikeout masterpiece against the Twins, Ventura tweeted out what appeared to be a long apology to Bautista in Spanish.
According to Google Translate, the text roughly reads as follows:
“Right now I’m realizing that anger takes hold of a man and that’s what happened to me with the comment. Jose is a good man and a great human being. I apologize to the fans who are in shock with what I did (I feel very sorry). We all make mistakes and we learn from them. I’m improving my temper and improving a lot as a person. I will not be a lesser man and apologize for something I said with a hot head. I apologize again and again, and I give thanks to God who gives me the ability to recognize my mistake.”
The Blue Jays outfielder responded to Ventura on Twitter in Spanish and seemed to accept the apology.
Bautista’s tweet approximately translates as:
“Quiet man! Go forward! Good luck on the rest of the season!
This apparent apology stems from a Twitter rant that Ventura went on against Bautista following Sunday’s game between the Royals and the Blue Jays where tempers flared and Bautista publicly criticized Kansas City manager Ned Yost.
Ventura’s rant didn’t sit well with Sportsnet Blue Jays analyst Gregg Zaun.
Everything appears to be water under the bridge now — unless of course these two teams see each other in the playoffs.
Or Ventura comes out with a diss track.
