White Sox acquire right-hander Kahnle from Rockies

CHICAGO — The Chicago White Sox have acquired right-hander Tommy Kahnle from the Colorado Rockies for minor league pitcher Yency Almonte.

The 26-year-old Kahnle is 2-2 with a 4.41 ERA in 90 relief appearances over two seasons with the Rockies. He went 0-1 with a 4.86 ERA and two saves last year.

Almonte was 11-7 with a 3.41 ERA in 24 appearances — 23 starts — for Class A Kannapolis and Winston-Salem.

With Tuesday’s move, the White Sox’s 40-man roster stands at 37.
