White Sox agree to $4.4M, 1-year deal with Viciedo

CHICAGO — The White Sox have agreed to a $4.4 million, one-year contract with outfielder Dayan Viciedo, avoiding arbitration.

Viciedo hit .231 with 21 homers and 56 RBIs in 145 games last year. The 25-year-old Viciedo is a .254 career hitter with 66 homers and 211 RBIs in five seasons, all with the White Sox.

The team announced the contract on Monday. It has five remaining arbitration-eligible players: catcher Tyler Flowers and right-handers Javy Guerra, Nate Jones, Hector Noesi and Jeff Samardzija.
