The New York Yankees‘ blockbuster off-season is continuing full steam ahead.
Having already beefed up the offence by adding National League MVP Giancarlo Stanton, the Yankees appear poised to add an impact arm to their rotation. New York is reportedly working on a deal to acquire Pittsburgh Pirates ace Gerrit Cole, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.
A trade has not been agreed upon, but one of Passan’s sources indicates there is confidence something will come together. If the Yankees can’t swing a deal for Cole, Passan reports there is a very high likelihood Cole is sporting a different jersey in the near future.
The Yankees at this point are the likeliest destination for Gerrit Cole, but if that falls through, sources believe Pittsburgh is highly motivated to trade him. Likelihood Cole moves is very strong.

Cole posted a 4.26 ERA across 33 starts for the Pirates in 2017. The 27-year-old right-hander’s best season came in 2015 when he pitched to a 2.60 ERA and was named an all-star.
