TORONTO -- Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh was being taken to hospital with "severe stomach cramps" on Friday night, according to head coach Jay Triano.

"Severe stomach cramps," Triano said. "Can't straighten up."

Bosh did not participate in the team's morning workout, and was ruled out of Friday night's home game against the New York Knicks.

Speaking about an hour before tip-off, Triano said Bosh was inside the Air Canada Centre, but added the star player "won't be for long."

"Going to the hospital to get checked out," Triano said. "See what's going on and why he's not feeling any better."

The 25-year-old has already missed Toronto's previous six games with a sprained left ankle. He last played on Feb. 19 against the Memphis Grizzlies, recording 32 points and 10 rebounds in the Raptors' 109-102 loss.

The Raptors have struggled in Bosh’s absence, losing four straight after winning their first two games without the all-star forward in the lineup.
