Phoenix Suns centre Robin Lopez was suspended one game without pay by the National Basketball Association for improper conduct towards a game official on Wednesday.

NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson made the announcement.

The incident occurred during the Suns' 99-96 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night. With 8:14 remaining in the second quarter after the referee called a foul on Lopez, the 23-year-old brushed past the referee and appeared to slightly nudge him.

Lopez will serve his suspension on Friday when the Suns visit the Portland Trail Blazers.
