Toronto Raptors point guard Jerryd Bayless re-injured his left ankle in the team’s 105-99 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night. He missed the first 13 games of the season after spraining the same ankle.
In the third quarter Bayless came up limping after a drive to the basket. He immediately subbed off and went to the locker room for the remainder of the game.
"He tweaked it," Raptors coach Dwane Casey said. "It’s been hurting him. It was hurting him in the Washington game. He came through and played hard."
It was Bayless’ sixth straight start alongside Jose Calderon as the Raptors went with two point guards in their backcourt. Bayless made six three-pointers and scored 30 points in the Raptors loss to the Washington Wizards on Monday.
On the season, Bayless was averaging 11.7 points per game but since being inserted into the starting lineup that total had increased to 15.6 PPG.
No timetable has been given for his return.
