Air Canada Centre undergoes makeover for Huskies night

DeMar DeRozan is in rare form to start this season with a performance that is matched only by the legendary Michael Jordan. He is doing everything for the Raptors right now, and it is up to his team to help keep that going Saturday night.

The Air Canada Centre has undergone a makeover ahead of Saturday’s tilt between the Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks.

With the Raptors set to don their throwback Huskies jerseys for the first time this season, the ACC has been transformed to match the occasion.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Toronto Huskies’ lone season in the Basketball Association of America, which merged with the National Basketball League in 1949 to form the NBA. Toronto played host to the first ever NBA (BAA) game on Nov. 1, 1946, falling 68-66 to the New York Knickerbockers.

The club plans to wear the Huskies jerseys for six home games this season. It last wore the Huskies blue and white during the 2009-10 season.
