Vaughan, Ont., native Andrew Wiggins has become the sixth-youngest player in NBA history to score 6,000 career points.
He achieved the milestone in the first half of the Minnesota Timberwolves game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Wiggins has helped the Wolves to a 34-22 record, good for fourth place in the Western Conference entering Wednesday’s action. He’s averaging 17.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals on the season and scored a season-high 40 points on Jan. 22 in a win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and Tracy McGrady are the only players to have reached 6,000 points at a younger age.
