Under Armour unveils ‘BACK 2 BACK’ kicks to celebrate Curry’s MVP

Steph Curry started on the bench, but took over in overtime, scoring an NBA record 17 points in the extra frame and pacing the Warriors to the win and a 3-1 series lead over Portland.

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry was named the first unanimous MVP selection in NBA history on Tuesday, repeating as the league’s most valuable player.

To celebrate this accomplishment, Under Armour unveiled a special “Curry BACK 2 BACK MVP Pack” sneaker set that will come with a pair of limited edition “Curry One” and “Curry Two” kicks, along with one sweet box.

It’s a pretty clever marketing ploy on the part of Under Armour to organize this kind of promotion as it took advantage of what ended up being as sure an MVP selection as one can possibly be.

More importantly for the athletic wear company, however, is it worked. As of the time of this post, this special collector’s set has already sold out. The fortunate few who managed to grab these kicks will begin seeing them after they ship out on June 24.
