Not only did Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry get major support in his bid to be an NBA all-star from prime minister Stephen Harper, Justin Bieber has also jumped on the Lowry campaign.
Unfortunately, Bieber forgot to include a key component in his tweet — the official NBA ballot hashtag. According to the NBA, a tweet must contain #NBABallot to be counted as a valid vote. It is estimated that this error has already cost Lowry 25,000 votes.
Lowry was named the Eastern Conference’s player of the month for December. He is averaging 19.8 points per game, 4.9 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game this season.
The Raptors currently sit third in the Eastern Conference with a 26-14 record.
NBA all-star balloting ends on Jan. 19, with team starters being announced on Jan. 22.
