Canada Basketball announced its roster for the FIBA U19 World Championships in Heraklion, Greece.

“It is an honour to take this group of young men and an incredible staff to Greece for the World Championship,” head coach Roy Rana said via press release. “The commitment and character of this group has been impressive.”

So too is the roster itself, headlined by forward Dillon Brooks (Oregon via Mississauga, ON), one of the NCAA’s standout freshmen this past season, and incoming UNLV recruits guard Jalen Poyser (Orangeville Prep via Mississauga, ON), and forward Justin Jackson (Findlay Prep via Ajax, ON).

This will be Rana’s fifth year at the helm of the team, which has seen the likes of Tristan Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Anthony Bennett during his tenure. Five players from the 2014 squad that finished 2nd overall—Canada’s best performance ever—are returning: Christopher Egi (Harvard via Markham, ON), Corey Johnson (Vermont Academy via Ottawa, ON), Nevell Provo (Pine Ridge High School via Halifax, NS), and Drew Urquhart (University of Vermont via Vancouver, BC), and Brooks.

Canada ranks 3rd in the age group heading into the tournament and begin exhibition play versus Spain in Bilbao on June 13th.
