Heat’s Dragic assessed technical for swing to face of Raptors’ Joseph

Eric Smith and Michael Grange break down game 4 between the Raptors and Heat, and outline what Toronto has to do in the games ahead to rediscover their offence.

Two days too late, but the NBA announced earlier that it has assessed Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic with a technical foul for a swing he took at Raptors guard Cory Joseph during Monday’s Game 4 in Miami:

The technical is obviously retroactive, meaning Dragic has been fined, but the Raptors will not get any free-throws or anything of that ilk when the two teams square off again tonight at the Air Canada Centre.

Dragic and Joseph were engaged in an intense matchup throughout the game, with Joseph playing extremely physical defense on the Heat guard down the stretch, which appears to have caused Dragic to lash out in frustration and take a swipe at Joseph’s face. Here’s a closer look at the incident, which went uncalled (unnoticed?) by the officials:

Joseph escaped unscathed. Dragic? Well, needless to say his face got the worst of Monday’s game:

The Raptors and Heat tip-off at 8 pm ET Wednesday with the series tied 2-2.
