Injured Raptors guard Kyle Lowry seen getting shots up left-handed

Watch as Kyle Lowry takes left-handed shots before the Raptors match up with the Mavericks.

Injured Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry was seen getting shots up ahead of his team’s game with the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night. The only kicker, however, is they were all with his left hand.

Lowry has been out with a right wrist injury that he suffered on Feb. 15 against the Charlotte Hornets, just before the all-star break, and while it’s encouraging to see him on the floor in any capacity given how he didn’t make any attempt with his ailing shooting hand it doesn’t look like he’ll be making any sudden returns very soon.

The progress of Lowry has been slow and steady. At the beginning of March he had successful surgery on his wrist, and last week he progressed to a light dribbling program.

Sidelined since the break, the Raptors have played well in his absence, going 10-5 in the 15 games they’ve played without him.

There’s no clear timetable yet on his return, but seeing him getting shots up, with only his non-shooting hand or not, should still be considered a good sign that he could be ready in time for the playoffs.
