Of all the players on the New York Knicks, you wouldn’t expect J.R. Smith to air ball a free-throw attempt.
Tyson Chandler? Sure.
Ronnie Brewer? Probably
But not the man nicknamed “J.R. Swish.”
However that’s exactly what happened during last night’s game against the Detroit Pistons as Smith, who is a career 74 per cent free-throw shooter, airballed a second quarter free-throw shot.
Everyone in Madison Square Gardens, including Smith, thought that this was hilarious except head coach Mike Woodson whose reaction to the shot speaks for itself.
Smith continued to entertain the crowd by playing with a group of kids at halftime, but got frustrated when his team’s point guard missed an opportunity to pass him the ball.
