After learning this week that Dwane Casey will be returning as head coach of the Toronto Raptors for the 2015-16 season, there were no shortage of opinions from the Raps fan base. Casey’s tenure in Toronto has been something of a roller coaster. From the sweet agony of his first season to two consecutive division titles and, this past season, when the Raptors set a franchise record for wins in the regular season.

And yet the decision to bring Casey back polarized fans who split into two camps. In one, the memories of the Raptors disastrous sweep against the Washing Wizards are still vivid, as is the largely mediocre second half of last season. In the other, it’s all about the big picture- that all things considered this coach has earned another shot, and that continuity matters.
