Lakers’ Nash improving but still not ready

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash has started jogging and participating in various agility drills but it still not close to making his return to active duty.

The Los Angeles Daily News spoke with Nash briefly after the Lakers loss to the Orlando Magic on Sunday and he was not able to put a timetable on his return.

“Another 10 days to two weeks?” Nash wondered aloud. “That’s a total guess. Since I can’t run, I’m not going to play this week.”

Nash did shoot a few jumpers before Sunday’s game tipped off.

“The recovery time is getting better,” Nash said. “But it’s a small improvement.”

The Victoria native has missed 15 games since suffering a non-displaced fracture in his leg in the Lakers’ third game of the season.
