Wednesday night is a homecoming of sorts for Andrew Wiggins and Sam Mitchell when the Minnesota Timberwolves take the court in Toronto to play the Raptors.
Wiggins will address the Toronto media Wednesday morning ahead of the game, and you can catch it right here on sportsnet.ca. Wiggins is expected to talk at approximately 11:30 a.m. ET / 8:30 a.m. PT, following the team’s shoot-around.
For Wiggins, a native of Vaughan, Ont., Wednesday will be the high-flying rookie’s first time playing an NBA game on home soil since being drafted No. 1 overall last June.
Meanwhile, after it was announced that Minnesota coach Flip Saunders will miss the game due to personal reasons, Mitchell will handle the sideline duties for the T-wolves against a Raptors team he coached from 2004-08. During that time, he amassed a record of 156-189 over parts of five seasons and won Coach of the Year in 2006-07.
