The Los Angeles Lakers received a much-needed boost ahead of Wednesday night’s crucial matchup with the San Antonio Spurs.

Backup power forward Jordan Hill has been cleared to play as the Los Angeles looks to even their series in San Antonio.

After having hip surgery in January, Hill was not expected to return this season but has clearly progressed ahead of schedule.

Hill is expected to back up the Lakers twin tower tandem of Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard.

In 29 appearances this season, he averaged 6.7 points and 5.7 rebounds.

The Spurs won the opening game of the series on Sunday night 91-79.

Game 2 can be seen tonight on Sportsnet ONE beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT.
