The Toronto Raptors rewarded DeMar DeRozan with a monster five-year deal early Friday morning and perhaps no one was as excited as Kyle Lowry, DeRozan’s BFF.
With the new contract reportedly coming in at nearly $140 million, Lowry has made it known that he is never picking up the dinner tab again.
DeRozan and Lowry have been teammates for the past four seasons and have developed a special bond. From questioning each other’s math to video-bombing post-game interviews, they have become much more than just teammates.
The two were both named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team in 2015-16 and led the Raptors to their best season in franchise history, posting 56 wins and making it all the way to the Conference Finals.
