ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Magic are inducting Shaquille O’Neal into the team’s Hall of Fame.

The Magic announced O’Neal’s addition Thursday. He will be honoured on March 27 when the Magic host the Detroit Pistons. The perennial All-Star and No. 1 overall draft pick in 1992 becomes the third inductee into the Magic Hall. O’Neal joins Magic co-founder Pat Williams and the Magic’s first-ever draft pick Nick Anderson, who made up the inaugural class in 2014.

O’Neal guided the Magic to their first NBA Finals appearance in 1995. He spent four seasons in Orlando before departing for Los Angeles in free agency in 1996.

The team’s Hall of Fame was started to honour and celebrate players, coaches and executives who have had a major impact during its 26-year history.
