While it’s not set in stone, New York Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire may get his first taste of game action this season on New Year’s Day against the Portland Trail Blazers.
“It’s possible,” he told the New York Post. “That would be awesome if I’m able to. It’s a possibility. If I keep improving, I should be ready to go.”
The Knicks forward practiced twice last week with the team’s D-League affiliate in Erie and experienced soreness in the knee he had opperated on Nov. 1.
“I just want to make sure I’m 100 percent,” Stoudemire said. “That’s the main goal. I’m not quite there yet but I’m making progress. If you’re not 100 percent, there’s certain areas I want to feel great and I’m not quite there yet.”
