HOUSTON — New Orleans guard Tyreke Evans will miss the Pelicans’ game Thursday night at Houston because of a bruised right knee.

Coach Monty Williams says Evans was injured when he bumped knees with a teammate Tuesday night and that they’d re-evaluate him Friday.

Williams says: "He’s had some swelling in his knee. Any time you bump it like that, you want to make sure it’s OK."

Evans is averaging 17 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists. Austin Rivers will start in his place.
