Powell shakes off injury to lead Raptors past Warriors at Summer League

Norman Powell shook off an injury scare to lead the top-seeded Toronto Raptors past the Golden State Warriors 75-69 in Summer League action on Thursday.

Powell suffered a left thigh bruise during the third quarter, but returned after a brief trip to the locker room to finish the night with a team-high 17 points, including eight in the fourth period.

Bruno Caboclo added 12 points on 3-of-8 shooting in the Raptors’ victory while Jakob Poeltl registered seven points to go along with seven rebounds.

Patrick McCaw paced the Warriors with 28 points, including five three-pointers.

Next up for the Raptors is a meeting with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday in the quarterfinals. Toronto defeated Minnesota 82-80 in the first matchup between the clubs.
