Luke Ridnour is staying upbeat after being traded four times in the last week, finally landing with the Toronto Raptors on June 30.

“I’ve got a lot of texts from friends and family worried about [my family and me],” Ridnour told USA TODAY Sports’ Jeff Zillgitt. “It really hasn’t affected us at all. It’s been pretty funny.”

Ridnour, who has a non-guaranteed contract, was traded three times in just 25 hours last Wednesday and Thursday.

The 34-year-old was with the Orlando Magic before being dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies on June 24. The next day Ridnour was sent to the Charlotte Hornets, then flipped to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He finished the whirlwind week in Toronto on Tuesday along with cash considerations in exchange for the rights to 2012 draft pick Tomislav Zubcic.

“I just laughed about it and realized my contract is the reason I’m getting traded and how valuable my deal is for teams in free agency,” Ridnour said in the USA TODAY interview.

The six-foot-two, 175-pound Ridnour has averaged 9.3 points, 4.5 assists, one steals and 26.1 minutes in 830 career games.
