Incoming Canadian freshman Andrew Wiggins put on one hell of a show in his first official practice as a Kansas Jayhawk, according to Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com.

"Like watching a video game," a source told Parrish. "He’d be the No. 1 pick this year."

While the "video game" comment may be a bit hyperbolic, the idea that Wiggins would be the first overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft is spot on as he’s projected to be selected first in 2014, a draft class that scouts say is much stronger than this year’s.

Wiggins is a 6-foot-8 forward from Vaughan, Ont. He was one of the most heavily recruited prospects in the United States as he’s been compared to NBA stars such as Scottie Pippen and LeBron James.

He recently concluded his high school career at Huntington Prep School where he averaged 23.4 points and 11.1 rebounds per game in his final year.

During this final year, he ended up walking away with a number of accolades including the Gatorade High School Basketball Player of the Year Award, the Naismith Prep Player of the Year of the Award and a selection to the McDonald’s All-American game.

In addition to his high school achievements, Wiggins has also led Canada’s U17 and U18 national teams to bronze medals in international competition in 2010 and 2012.

Wiggins signed his letter of intent to play at Kansas in May.
