The Detroit Pistons have locked up point guard Reggie Jackson to a five-year extension worth $80 million, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski.

Detroit acquired Jackson from the Oklahoma City Thunder in a three-team deal in February after starting point guard Brandon Jennings ruptured his left Achilles tendon in January. Jennings, 25, has one year and $8.34 million on his current deal and is slated to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Jackson, the 24th overall pick in 2011, flourished in an expanded role with the Pistons, averaging a career best 17.6 points on 43.6 per cent shooting, 9.2 assists and 4.7 rebounds in 27 games played. He averaged 9.0 points, 3.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds spent mostly as a backup during his four-year Thunder career.
