NBA free agency kicked off on Monday and new Indiana Pacers president Larry Bird appears to have already made his first move.
The Pacers have agreed to terms with free agent point guard C.J. Watson, according to NBA.com’s David Aldridge.
Watson is expected to be an upgrade over last year’s back-up point guard DJ Augustin as the Pacers look to stack the deck in their favour in an increasingly top-heavy Eastern Conference.
Watson spent last season with the Brooklyn Nets where he appeared in 80 games, starting eight, and recorded averages of 6.8 points and two assists per game.
The seven-year veteran has spent time with Golden State, Chicago and Brooklyn.
