Toronto Raptors all-star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan is expected to miss a month with a torn tendon in his left groin, according to multiple reports.
On Saturday, the Raptors officially designated DeRozan as out indefinitely, but Sam Amick of USA Today and Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports are reporting that DeRozan will be sidelined for about four weeks.
DeRozan suffered the injury in the Raptors’ loss to the Dallas Mavericks Friday driving towards the baseline in the third quarter and awkwardly slipping.
The 25-year-old is the Raptors’ leading scorer, putting up 19.4 points per game, but has struggled from the field this season with a 39.4 percent field goal percentage — a five percent decrease from his career number.
Toronto opens a three-game West coast road trip against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
