The Toronto Raptors have agreed in principle to acquire veteran guard C.J. Miles in a sign-and-trade with the Indiana Pacers, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting.

Miles, a free agent, will reportedly sign a three-year $25-million deal with a player option.

According to an earlier Wojnarowski report, Cory Joseph will be heading to the Pacers as part of the deal.

Shortly after the deal was reported, Miles took to Twitter to thank the city of Indianapolis.

Miles, 30, has played 13 NBA seasons between three teams, spending the last three seasons with the Pacers. Last season he averaged 10.7 points per game on 43.4 per cent shooting from the field and 41.3 per cent from three-point range in 76 games played.

Joseph is a Pickering, Ont., native who originally signed a four-year deal in 2015 with his hometown Raptors team. Last season he averaged a career-high 9.3 points and 3.3 assists per game for Toronto acting as Kyle Lowry’s primary backup.

This move follows another deal the Raptors completed in the wee hours of Sunday morning, when they traded DeMarre Carroll to the Brooklyn Nets as part of a means to shed salary.
