Andrew Wiggins won’t be the only one making a homecoming on Wednesday.
The Toronto Raptors will see a familiar face when they face off against the Timberwolves on Wednesday night with Sam Mitchell serving as Minnesota’s head coach in place of Flip Saunders, who will miss the game in Toronto due to personal reasons.
Mitchell, an assistant coach on Saunders’ staff, coached the Raptors from 2004-08. He had a combined record of 156-189 over parts of five seasons.
Mtichell won the Coach of the Year award in his third year with the club following the Raptors’ first-ever Atlantic Division title in 2006-07.
