The Toronto Raptors have announced their 17-man roster for the NBA’s Summer League, which will take place in Las Vegas starting July 7.
The roster features three familiar faces with last year’s rookie trio of Pascal Siakam, Jakob Poeltl, and Fred VanVleet headlining the list.
Toronto’s most recent first-round pick OG Anunoby is also listed, but he won’t play as he recovers from a right knee injury that cut his 2016-17 collegiate season short.
The rest of the roster is comprised of a mix of players who were left undrafted, like former North Carolina Tar Heel centre Kennedy Meeks, and D-Leaguers like Will Sheehey of the Raptors 905, all of whom will be using this opportunity to try and crack an NBA roster. The coaches who will be responsible for helping them get there will be Jama Mahlalela and Patrick Mutombo.
The Raptors finished last year’s Vegas Summer League with a quarter-final appearance, with Norman Powell named to the tournament’s second-team.
The Raptors will try to make their mark on the 2017 Summer League starting in the preliminary round with a game against the Pelicans on July 7th at 6 PM ET.
