Golden State Warriors superstar guard Stephen Curry won’t play Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks, recovering from a sprained right ankle.
First suffering the injury Tuesday during practice, Curry missed the Warriors’ last game on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Although there’s been no word yet about his status beyond Friday, with Golden State playing a back-to-back starting in Milwaukee and then heading to Toronto Saturday, its possible that the two-time MVP is merely being held out of the Bucks game and could return for the stiffer test versus the Raptors.
Curry is averaging 27.9 points, 6.4 assists and 5.2 rebounds this season on 49.2 per cent shooting and a stunning 41.4 per cent clip from three-point range. He previously missed 11 games in December with another right ankle injury and was sidelined with a bruised hand in late November.
The Warriors are 10-4 this season without Curry in the lineup.
