Suns waive second-year guard Christmas

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns waived guard Dionte Christmas on Thursday.

The former Temple player averaged 2.3 points, 1.2 rebounds and 6.4 minutes in 31 games last season as a rookie. He averaged 10.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in five summer league games this month in Las Vegas.

Before joining the Suns, Christmas played in Israel, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Greece, Russia and Italy.
