Thunder’s Russell Westbrook to Joel Embiid: ‘Go home’

Russell Westbrook lead the way with 27 points, 17 rebounds and 15 assists as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Philadelphia 76ers 119-117 in triple overtime.

Reason No. 2,650,031 to love Russell Westbrook: His trolling of Joel Embiid on Friday night.

Embiid irked the Oklahoma City Thunder veteran early in the game when the young 76ers centre waved goodbye toward the Philadelphia crowd once Westbrook’s teammate Steven Adams fouled out.

First, Westbrook elevated his game, finishing with 27 points, 17 rebounds and 15 assists over 52 minutes to help the Thunder pull out a 119-117 triple overtime victory.

Then, after the final buzzer, he smiled and waved to Embiid.

“I was telling him, ‘Go home,'” Westbrook said following the game.

Embiid, 23, scored 34 points in what was perhaps the finest game of his career. He made sure to clap back at Westbrook following the contest.

“He told me to go home,” Embiid said of Westbrook. “I mean this is my home, so I guess it’s time for him to go home. They won the game. I give them a lot of credit. He did a lot of things, but the dude shot like 10 of 33. I wish I would have shot 33 times. I guess we would have had a better chance of actually winning the game.”

Can’t wait for the rematch.
