It has been recently reported that the Memphis Grizzlies have been testing the market for Rudy Gay’s services but one team that appears to have found the asking price to be too high are the Minnesota Timberwolves.
A source told ESPN 1500 in Minnesota that Timberwolves general manager David Kahn turned down a trade proposal from the Grizzlies front office.
It remains unclear what the Grizzlies offer or if other teams were involved in potential trade scenarios.
There has been a huge list of teams linked with Gay’s services over the past few days including the Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns.
The Grizzlies are a few million dollars over the luxury tax level and are said to be entertaining offers for Gay and/or Zach Randolph in order to clear some cap space and flexibility going forward.
