USA overpowers Serbia to claim Olympic basketball gold

Kevin Durant scored a game-high 30 to help team USA win their third straight gold medal after a 96-66 win over Serbia.

The United States has won the gold medal in men’s basketball for the third consecutive Olympics.

Paced by a 30-point performance from Kevin Durant, USA overwhelmed Serbia 96-66. After a tight opening quarter, the Americans broke the game open in the second frame, outscoring their opponent 33-14.

Toronto Raptors guards DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry recorded six and five points respectively, with Lowry contributing five assists and five rebounds in the victory.

Serbia was led by Nemanja Nedović, who scored 14 points in a losing effort.
