Once again the United States will be playing for a gold medal in men’s basketball.

Klay Thompson scored 22 points to lead the USA to an 82-76 win over Spain on Friday. The Golden State Warriors shooting guard was the only American to eclipse 14 points, going 8-for-16 from the field and 4-for-8 from three-point range.

On the Spanish side, Pau Gasol of the San Antonio Spurs led the way with a game-high 23 points to go with his eight rebounds. He was one of only two double-digit scorers for Spain.

The Toronto Raptors contingent on USA had a quiet game. Kyle Lowry scored nine points in 15 minutes and DeMar DeRozan did not see action in the contest.

The USA will play for its third consecutive gold medal on Sunday.
