Warriors early betting favourites to win 2018 NBA Championship

The Golden State Warriors stormed through the 2017 playoffs, and oddsmakers have clearly taken notice as they get ready for next season.

Bodog, via OddShark, has released odds that the Warriors are currently the -150 favourites to win the 2018 NBA Championship. It’s no surprise that the Cleveland Cavaliers sit in second with odds of +300, considering they’ve met the Warriors in each of the past three NBA Finals.

The rest of the league’s 28 teams sit far behind the Warriors and Cavaliers, with the Boston Celtics and San Antonio Spurs tied for third on the list at +1200.

The Toronto Raptors currently sit in eight (+5000), but it would come as no surprise to see their standing change after free agency takes its course. The same can be said for every other team in the NBA, especially for the Los Angeles Clippers (+3300), who sit one spot ahead of the Raptors.

While Toronto will be looking to make key decisions regarding their star free agents in Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka, the Clippers also run the risk of losing J.J. Redick in free agency. After years of failing to take the next step, Los Angeles could also explore moving on from all-stars Blake Griffin and Chris Paul.

The Warriors also have some big names in Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry hitting the market. But after their recent success, it’s hard to imagine them leaving their current situation.
