SPORTSNET KEEPS YOU CONNECTED ALL WEEK IN EDMONTON FOR GREY CUP 2010

Connected has interviews and analysis all week from Edmonton leading up to Sunday’s Grey Cup

TORONTO (November 22, 2010) – Sportsnet Connected is the destination for all the news and interviews leading up to the 2010 Grey Cup between the Montreal Alouettes and the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday, November 28th.

Connected host Arash Madani and reporter Jamie Thomas will team up with former CFLers Bryan Chiu and Giulio Caravatta to give viewers the most comprehensive coverage of the Grey Cup, starting Tuesday, November 23rd. The Connected team will provide reports on the early and primetime editions of Connected all this week in Edmonton and right up to the game on Sunday – featuring coach and player interviews as well as previewing both teams going into the 98th edition of the Grey Cup. Connected will have all the post-game interviews, highlights and a breakdown of the pivotal plays from the Grey Cup. In addition, sportsnet.ca columnists Perry Lefko and Mark Spector will be in Edmonton to provide updates on all the latest news surrounding the 2010 Grey Cup with daily video analysis on the website.

Sportsnet analysts Caravatta and Chiu are split on their picks going into Sunday’s classic.

“I predict Montreal over Saskatchewan 26-22 to capture the Grey Cup and repeat as champs,” says Chiu, Sportsnet’s CFL insider and five-time CFL all-star with two Grey Cup rings. “Montreal is just too strong and with the weather in Edmonton, the Saskatchewan defence could have trouble getting to Calvillo. When he has time, he is just unstoppable.”

According to Caravatta, he is impressed with Saskatchewan’s drive to get back to the championship after a devastating defeat in the Grey Cup last year. “Everyone knows what happened last year and Saskatchewan has had to answer questions all season about how they lost the Grey Cup,” says Sportsnet analyst Carravatta, a member of the 1994 Grey Cup Champion BC Lions. “I love the way Darian Durant and the offence is playing right now because they can hurt you with so many different weapons. If you try and take Fantuz or Dressler out of game, Clermont and Getzlaf will make you pay.”

For all the scores, highlights, breaking news and inside stories from the Grey Cup and the CFL, tune in to Sportsnet Connected and log on to sportsnet.ca. “Your home team. First.”
