Birthplace:
I also got the chance to play in the 1984 All Star Game in New Jersey before being traded to Boston in the fall of 1984. Here, I had my first chance to play on an original six team and play along side Ray Bourque in the old Boston Garden. After the 1986 season, I was voted the Bill Masterton Trophy winner by the media (nominated and injured so often they just gave it to me so they could take my name off of ballot.) After the 1987 season, I was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins where I had the privilege to watch a young Mario Lemieux make his way through the NHL.
I fell into broadcasting by accident during the Kings run to the finals in 1993 and started full time the next season when the Anaheim Mighty Ducks joined the NHL and then on to Phoenix when the Winnipeg Jets relocated to Phoenix in 1996. A move to Calgary in 2005 brought me back to Canada where I have been fortunate to be able to do games for Rogers Sportsnet.
I am married with two daughters and one son and have enjoyed moving back to Canada in a hockey driven city like Calgary.
