Birthplace:
As Marketing Manager of the Hockey Hall of Fame for 5 years I dealt with NHL players, Hall of Fame members and even escorted the Stanley Cup for appearances from time to time. I held a microphone for the first time in 1995 when the Toronto Maple Leafs hired me as their first in-arena host. That led to numerous freelance television jobs before my first big network job with Sportsnet when they launched in 1998.
I was Sportsnet's NHL features reporter for 10 years until 2008, also working south of the border as a rinkside reporter for ABC & ESPN's hockey broadcasts, then with Versus for 4 seasons. I hosted the "Captains" show on the NHL Network and was the host of New Jersey Devils hockey games with MSG Network before coming back to Sportsnet in the fall of 2011. It's great to be back doing features at Sportsnet once again!
London, Ontario
First media job:Rinkside reporter on ESPN2's broadcast of the 1998 AHL All-Star Game.
Career highlight:There are so many but covering Wayne Gretzky's last NHL game at Madison Square Garden in 1999 is right up there.
Special interests/hobbies:I am a member of the organizing committee for the Conn Smythe Sports Celebrities Dinner in support of Easter Seals. I made my acting debut in the role of Donna Evans in the horror flick Saw3D in 2010.
Bio: Unlike most of my colleagues, it was a rather circuitous and unconventional path that led me to my television career at Sportsnet. Growing up in a hockey family (big brother Dave was drafted by the New York Islanders in 1980, and little brother Craig had a 10-year NHL career, winning 2 Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers) it wasn't long before my career path also led me to the world of hockey. As Marketing Manager of the Hockey Hall of Fame for 5 years I dealt with NHL players, Hall of Fame members and even escorted the Stanley Cup for appearances from time to time.
