Career highlight:My career highlights for the most part are yet to be written. At only 23 years old I am hoping to have a long career in front of me. So far though the highlight for me was covering my former University's sports teams including when they hosted a very exciting OCAA men's volleyball championship. Never have a seen so many people packed in to such a small space and the atmosphere sent chills down my spine. The other biggest highlight has come from covering the Canadian Men's National team this fall and being able to see them play for the first three times in my life.
Special interests/hobbies:No longer have any real hobbies as I no longer actively pursue the collections that I had in my younger days. I used to collect hockey cards a fair bit but now my free time is generally spent watching a wide variety of sports as well as playing all kinds of games, both video and board. Rediscovering my love of reading now after it being snuffed out by University and have a love for soccer books. I also enjoy going on backpacking and canoe trips when the chance arises.
Bio: I was born in Smithville, Ontario but since then I have moved to a number of different places including spending time in Michigan and Minnesota. I am now back in Southern Ontario where I feel the most at home. Sports have always been a huge part of my life and soccer was front and centre in that. I played as a child, reffed as a teenager, and now write about what is truly the beautiful game. I have always had a passion for writing which led me to study Honours History and English at Redeemer University in Ancaster, Ontario. I will always remain a proud Royal and one of the fondest memories I will have from the school is the atmosphere at their sporting events. My coverage of sports revolves around my search to find that kind of passion for the home team and it is something I have found in both Toronto FC and the Canadian National team. Along with writing my life is now filled with planning my wedding for next fall and spending time with my amazing friends and family.
