Bio: I believe I'm considered to be the 'old guy' at Sportsnet. While many of the anchors recall the Oilers' Stanley Cup victories as childhood memories, I can go back to the '70s dynasty of my favourite team, the Montreal Canadiens. This doesn't make me as old as the cave drawings, but I can remember the '72 Summit Series vividly, as I sat and watched it during my final year of high school. Most of the people I work with now have either seen the video or have heard their parents talk about it!

With my limited skating ability, hockey wasn't a realistic career path. However, in pick-up and charity games I am considered a 'stay-at-home' defenceman - most goalies ask me to stay at home.
I was a football fan growing up (Ti-Cats, Eat 'Em Raw!). I concentrated on football and have the bad back and wonky knees to prove it.

I was always interested in radio and television, and got started while I was at the University of Western Ontario, then at CFPL Radio in London, Ontario, with stops in Sudbury, Winnipeg, and Montreal before joining CTV Sports in 1995.

I've had the opportunity to do many things in my career: play-by-play for the NHL, Junior Hockey, Major League Baseball, the NBA, the CFL, and figure skating. Oh yes, and two Olympic Games (1992 & 1994), curling, tennis, golf, swimming, alpine and cross country skiing, speed skating, equestrian, track and field, auto racing, cycling, and soccer. Whew, I'm either versatile or I need a life!

All in all, I go by a simple philosophy: 'Know your stuff and have fun.' Let me tell you, I've had a blast.
