Bio: Growing up I was always passionate about sports, but I never really considered it a realistic career. After graduating from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Computer Science, I worked in the tech field for a couple years before deciding to go to journalism school. Shortly after, I got a chance to intern at Rogers Sportsnet and it has blossomed into a great career path.

As a web content producer, editor and writer, I've had the opportunity to cover a number of noteworthy events for sportsnet.ca across a range of sports, including the Presidents Cup in my hometown of Montreal in 2007. But I found my niche that same year with MMA.

I love the aspect of strategy, and the potential for constant, explosive action in short periods of time that you find in a mixed martial arts fight. The sport is filled with many interesting personalities and I have hardly met anyone in the industry -- be it one of the athletes or an executive or official -- who wasn't a pleasure to deal with.

My highlights thus far in my career were covering UFC 83 in Montreal in April 2008 (the organization's first event in Canada), the milestone UFC 100 event in Las Vegas in July 2009, the record-breaking UFC 129 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto in April 2011 and the historic UFC on FOX (my favourite network!) show in Los Angeles & Anaheim in November 2011.

It's only by coincidence that all three had Canadian superstar Georges St-Pierre in the main or co-main event, winning the welterweight title each time. Or maybe it wasn't by coincidence.

I'm looking forward to covering many more such events and continuing to expand my knowledge and experience with Rogers Sportsnet, Rogers Digital Media and sportsnet.ca.
